Flagpoles (Flagstaffs)
Fibreglass
Piggotts are the only official UK agent for Formenta fibreglass flagpoles. Our Fibreglass flagpoles are available from 3 metre to 18 metre and are made from long lasting high-strength fibreglass reinforcement and specially selected polyester resin with colour pigment, giving a smooth, hard glossy finish. This style of distinctive looking, low maintenance flagpole solves many of the problems of the existing timber staffs and has the classic taper for beauty and grace. Low in weight with a brilliant clean finish makes this type of flagpole our number one choice and a best selling product. Fibreglass is impervious to salt spray and industrial polluted atmospheres, so an ideal material for flagpoles.
We have a range of 6 metre fibreglass flagstaffs available for hire on fibrecrete bases for temporary use.

Aluminium
Piggotts aluminium flagpoles give a slim, elegant and very pleasing appearance. They are taper-drawn from a single piece of aluminium alloy tubing, so that there are no welded seams; the result is constant quality over their entire length. All Piggotts aluminium flagpoles are fitted with gold coloured plastic finial or button top, halyard rope and cleat. Our aluminium flagpoles can be supported by hinged or fixed baseplate, traditional tabernacle, ground sleeve or with various brackets for wall mounting. Piggotts aluminium flagpoles combine unusual strength whilst being lightweight, and have been in practical use for over 15 years. The special satin brushed finish resists dirt and the flagpoles can be maintenance free for several years. Our aluminium flagpoles range in height from 5-15 metre, although drawn in one piece the 13, 14 and 15 metre flagpoles are cut at 12 metre then the top section of 1, 2 or 3 metres are fitted.
A lockable door internal halyard system can also be fitted to our aluminium range as a precaution against vandalism.
Steel
This flagpole range can be tapered from butt to top or supplied parallel. Standard sizes range from 5 metre to 16 metre. A recommended optional extra available is a white painted finish; this improves the appearance and also increases the protection and life of the flagpole, this flagpole will normally, unless specified be supplied in a galvanised finish. This range of flagpole is now not held within our stock range and is seen mainly as a bespoke item for special projects such as fixed banner masts or where extra strength is required.
Timber
Piggotts timber flagpoles are made from Douglas Fir (pseudotsuga menziesii). This timber is sometimes call British Columbian Pine and can last for around twenty years and longer if properly maintained. All our timber flagpoles are trimmed by hand - a time honoured traditional method. These flagpoles are trimmed as appropriate to site conditions and to suit the flag sizes required. Piggotts timber flagpoles are fixed by tabernacle for ground installations. Wall mounting brackets are also available. Timber flagpoles require regular maintenance and inspections periodically to prevent the possibility of rot spore activation. Due to the need of maintenance this type of flagstaff is now not widely used.
Wall mounted flagpoles
Piggotts offer a wide range of wall mounting brackets, designed for either vertical wall mounting or angled out from the building. Piggotts standard vertical wall mounting bracket is designed to fit most of our fibreglass and aluminium flagpole range. Piggotts have a many applications for angled wall brackets and our sales team would be happy to advise on the most practical solution for your building.
Rigged Flagpoles
Piggotts rigged flagpoles are a functional flagstaff used by Ministry of Defence Establishments, Harbour Masters, Coast Guards and Yacht clubs, where there is a requirement to fly signal flags, Ensigns (or similar) on the gaff arm and still have the main mast free for a National or similar flag. Maintenance and Installation
Piggotts have a fully trained experienced maintenance and installation team. Piggotts are Safe Contractor approved and will carry out maintenance and installation works nationwide. We will carry out site survey where necessary and will give fully risk assessment and method statements prior to commencing any works and have full insurance cover.

With a drive on base added these can be used at garage forecourts too. 2 sectional poles means transport costs are reduced for delivery around the country.
