Flag Maintenance
Piggotts are pleased to offer a flag maintenance service for your flags. This can be undertaken as part of Piggotts commitment to the provision of a complete service.
No matter how well any flag is made, it will eventually wear out and the maintenance of all flags is essential. Dirt and chemicals in the air, high winds and adverse weather conditions all help to reduce its life. However, there are several steps that can be taken to prolong the life of your flag.
1. Send the flag to us for regular laundering and repair.
2. It can be advantageous to have two flags available so that whilst one is in use the other can be repaired and laundered. Smaller storm size flags can be flown on wet or very windy days.
3. Anti-fray netting can be sewn to the fly edge of the flag in order to provide a certain amount of protection from the whipping action caused by the wind. This can be renewed at regular intervals if necessary.
