Flag Manufacturing
Sewn & Appliqué Flags
Sewn and appliqué techniques are more traditional for national flags, and can also prove to be cost effective for low volume and relatively simple flag designs.
Some of the many flags we are asked to make lend themselves to sewn or appliqué methods of manufacture. For example, most flags of the European countries are made by sewing together the different pieces of coloured material. For some company and club flags, simple designs and lettering can be reproduced from fabric and appliquéd to the background material, creating a very attractive and impressive flag. These methods are perhaps most economical when a ‘one off’ or small quantity is required.
Printed Flags
sewn flag This method of printed flags manufacture is used when larger quantities are required, or where it would be uneconomical to sew the design because of complexity, colour match, or possibly weight considerations.
Dye screen printing production is the most conventional form of flag printing which creates superb image definition to both sides of the flag.
Digital ink jet printing has further enhanced the process of flag manufacture, allowing for the easy reproduction of both photographic and half-tine imagery without the need for complex silk screen printing.
