Windsock Materials
The material of all windsocks must be able to withstand the most severe weather conditions, therefore, two carefully chosen materials are used to suit customers' differing budgets and requirements.
Fluorescent orange polyurethane coated nylon is the most popular choice amongst customers. Although perhaps not quite so durable, this material has an obvious price advantage over Hypalon.
Fluorescent orange MoD Hypalon coated nylon provides superior strength and durability. Made in a nylon-based material with a synthetic rubber coating designed to withstand arduous wear and tear, this is Piggotts' finest quality windsock.
Manufacturing of Windsocks
Piggotts' standard windsocks vary greatly in size and the correct choice will be determined by the purpose and location of the windsock. For instance, international airports use between 12 -14ft long windsocks.
The most popular sizes are 4ft and 7ft, which are widely used both at private aerodromes and within many different areas of industry, from petrochemical installations to water treatment plants, for health and safety purposes.
